Sarin Kalkaman

Kalkaman Sarin Kalkaman Sarin is a poet, public figure, and television presenter. He was born in 1978 in the village of Arkat, Aбай district, East Kazakhstan region. He graduated from high school in 1994 and completed his studies at the Faculty of History of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in 1998. He continued his education at the same institution and obtained a master's degree in history from 2012 to 2014. He began his career in higher education, serving as a lecturer in the Department of Social and Humanitarian Sciences at KazNAMA from 1998 to 2008. Since 2008, he has worked as a senior lecturer in the Department of History of Kazakhstan at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. From 2014 to 2015, he served as an advisor to the rector of the university. From 2013 to 2015, Kalkaman Sarin was the host of the political and social talk show "Kesh emes" on the "Astana" television channel, and since 2016, he has been the host of the educational program "Oı-tolǵau" on the "Kazakhstan" national channel. Since 2016, he has also been the head of the "Atameken" debate club established under the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He has been a member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan since 2012 and is a recipient of several literary and public awards. The poet's work is widely recognized through poetry and song lyrics. Songs written to his poems have become popular across the country. Kalkaman Sarin is the author of the poetry collections "Armanymnyń beınesі" (2011) and "Qus zholyndaǵy keruen" (2014), as well as the author's audio cassette collection "Jibek sezіm – Jürek sözіm" (2011). On November 2, 2011, a literary and musical creative evening titled "Armanymnyń beınesі" was held at the Congress Hall in Astana to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Kalkaman Sarin is a writer with a unique voice in contemporary Kazakh poetry, skillfully combining civic themes and lyricism.
