Tasquesken Rural Library The history of the Tasquesken Rural Library, which is part of the central library of the Urjar district in the Abai region, dates back to 1983. In its early years, the centralized library system included one district library, one children's library, and 14 rural libraries. Since 1986, Raigul Merzhanova has been serving in the library. After the district was dissolved in 1996, the number of cultural institutions decreased, and 6 libraries remained. In connection with these changes, starting from March 1997, the library was granted the status of Tasquesken Rural Library. The cultural house underwent major repairs. Since 2008, the rural library has been included in the structure of the central library of the Urjar district in the Abai region. In 2013, the cultural house was revitalized, and the library was relocated to the second floor of the building. Today, the Tasquesken Rural Library continues to operate regularly in this location. Currently, there are more than two and a half thousand residents in the village of Tasquesken. The library's collection consists of over 8,000 items, the majority of which are in the state language. The number of readers is about 800, including more than four hundred children. This clearly demonstrates the importance of the library in village life. Tasquesken is a sacred place that has nurtured many talented individuals. Notable figures from this region include the famous dombra player Jarkyn Shakharimov, the musician Bilal Yskak, and writers and artists such as Zupar Seyitjanov, Gulsim Seyitjanova, and Gasyly Seyitjanov, whose works have rightfully found a place in the rural library. Poetry evenings, music events, and educational activities dedicated to the creativity of these individuals are regularly organized. The library hosts cultural and public events, meetings for commemorative dates, literary evenings, and exhibitions. Seminars dedicated to important holidays and spiritual topics are carried out systematically. Every year, the traditional "Keruen" competition organized among the Urjar district libraries opens avenues for experience exchange and creative exploration. Additionally, the library's pages on Instagram and Facebook are actively maintained, playing an important role in disseminating information to the village residents and promoting library services. The Tasquesken Rural Library is a spiritual center that revitalizes the cultural life of the village. It connects the past and the present, fostering a love for knowledge, art, and national values in future generations. The library's collection is annually enriched with books published through state orders and, starting from 2023, with books by local authors published under the "Abai Zholy" library project with the support of the regional governor. The residents of the village also contribute to the growth of the library's collection by donating books from their personal libraries.
