Masalimov Maulymgazy Omarkhanuly

Born in 1939 in the village of Georgievka, Zharma district, Semipalatinsk region (now East Kazakhstan region). He began his career as the head of the folk instrument orchestra of the House of Culture of the POSH factory, worked as a methodologist at the Semipalatinsk House of Creativity. Masalimov has been heading the Semipalatinsk Regional Philharmonic since 1970. Since then, his life path has been closely connected with the development of the culture of our region.
For 30 years, Maulyumgazy Omarkhanuly was the first head of the regional department of culture, and then the city administration in connection with the division of the region. During his work as the head of the department of culture, Semipalatinsk became one of the largest cultural centers of the country.
During these years, unique state cultural centers were built: the Modern Music and Drama Theater, the Abai State Museum Complex, the Dostoevsky Literary and Memorial Museum, and the Nevzorov Family Museum of Fine Arts. With his personal participation, a number of people's artists, honored artists, and honored artists have been brought up in the region over the years, some of whom have received the high title of Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
For his services to the state, Maulimgazy Masalimov was awarded the "Badge of Honor" and the "Red Banner of Labor." He holds the titles of "Honored Worker of Culture of the Kazakh SSR" (1983) and "Honored Citizen of the City of Semey" (1998).
