Zharkyn Zhakiyauly Shakarim
Born on May 4, 1947 in Ayagoz, East Kazakhstan region. Dombra player-guitarist, music researcher.
Graduated from Karaganda Music College,
Almaty Kazakh National Conservatory. He worked as a senior editor at the Almaty studio of the All-Union company "Melody", an editor at the "Zhalyn" publishing house, director of the Republican Museum of Musical Instruments, and a guitarist-lecturer at the Kazakh Philharmonic. As an editor and head of the department of the Main Editorial Office of Music Programs of Kazakh Television, he published such programs as "3amana bulbuldary", "Dombra sazy", "Terme", "Shashu", "Musical film collection", "Guy-shezhire", "Inzhu-marzhan". Zh. Shakarim discovered and released the phonograph recordings of A. Kashaubayev's songs "Agash ayag", "Smet", "Beskarager", "Zhalgiz arsha", "Ush dos", "Balkadisha", "Dudar-ay". He is the author of the books "Amre", "An zhuldzy", "Amre Kashaubayev", "Malaysary bi-den Shamilge dagdi", "An askary", "Taskesken tagilymy" (with B. Aitkazin), "Nurgisa Tlendiyev" (with D. Tlendikelyny). Contributed to the publication of the anthology of Kazakh kuis "Mangilik kuyin" by the Kazakhstan Television and Radio Corporation. He published the kuis "Anadan amanat", "Dunie-kezek", "Abralydagy ata zary", "Dunie - kurun", "Temir - Shertken", "Kurtka tauip" and "Taskesken". He founded the folklore ensemble "Sazgen".
A diploma winner of the 12th World Youth and Students Festival, awarded the medal "For Merit" of the USSR All-Union "Bilim" Society and the Order of "Kurmet". Honored Worker of Kazakhstan. Honored Citizen of Urzhar District.
