Sheremetyev Grigorii Timofeevich

Shcheremetyev Grigory Timofeyevich. 1922-1997

Born in the village of Sidorov, Altai region. Graduated from the N.V. Gogol Almaty Art College (1946). Since 1954, he lived and worked in Semey. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1958). While being the first representative of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan in Semey, he actively participated in the establishment of the city's artistic intellectual community. A regular participant in city, republican, and all-union exhibitions, including: the III Republican Reporting Exhibition of Creative Works of the KazIZO Artists' Association (at the T.G. Shevchenko State Art Gallery of Kazakhstan, 1955), an interregional exhibition of fine arts, graphics, decorative and applied arts dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Soviet power (Semey, Ust-Kamenogorsk, 1966-1967), the reporting exhibition of Semey artists (Regional Exhibition Hall, Semey), an exhibition of works by Semey artists dedicated to the 100th anniversary of V.I. Lenin (Semey, 1970), an exhibition of veteran artists of the Great Patriotic War (K.A. Korovin Creative House, Gurzuf, 1989), etc. His personal anniversary exhibitions were organized in Almaty (1974, 1982). His works are preserved in museum and private collections in Kazakhstan. His daughter, Svetlana Shcheremetyeva, is currently one of the active artists in Semey.
