Yeshekeev Madeniet Seitzhanovich

Yeshekeev Madeniet Seitzhanovich was born on June 16, 1936 in the village of Kurmankhozha, Zhanasemei district, former Semipalatinsk region. After graduating from high school in 1954, he worked as a worker on the Modeniet collective farm. In 1955, he distinguished himself at the Republican Competition of Artists in Almaty, demonstrating his singing talent. In 1956, he was invited to the "Kazakhconcert" as a student of the famous singer Zhusupbek Elebekov. Since that year, he has been working at the Semey regional A. Kashaubayev Philharmonic. Yeshekeev has a beautiful voice, wide range, lyrical-dramatic tenor voice. The singer's work includes Kazakh folk songs, as well as songs by Abai, Birzhan, Akan, Zhayau Musa, Baluan Sholak, Estay, Asset, Ken, Shamshin, B. Sybanov, etc.

M. Eshekeev is a singer known especially for his wide promotion of Abai's musical heritage. The singer has prepared concert programs consisting of "Kulaktan kiribi boydy alar" - folk songs from the musical heritage of the great Abai, "An zhonldin azhary", "An uzegi", works of folk composers, and has performed in front of the people of all regions of Kazakhstan on concert tours. He has also performed in Russia and Mongolia. A student of the famous singer Zh. Elebekov, M. Eshekeev can be said to be a major figure in the continuation of the singing school of the Ark region led by Birzhan Sal.

"Zhiyrma bes", "Surzhekey" and other Kazakh folk songs performed by the singer have been included in the golden fund of the Kazakh radio. "Madeniet and Zhanibek Karmenov, who perform almost all of Abai's original works and songs written to Abai's poems," says T. Ibragimov, the chief curator of the Abai Museum.

One of the unique talents of our people, Zhanibek Karmenov, once said: "...Culture is the continuation of the singing tradition of our people, which has been formed for centuries and is ingrained in their blood. It will continue even after this. For now, Culture is the only one..." For his outstanding contribution to the development of Kazakhstan's art, M. Eshekeev was awarded the honorary titles "Honored Artist of Kazakhstan" in 1981 and "People's Artist of Kazakhstan" in 1987. A true artist will live forever with his people.
