Kassymbaev Zhanuzak Kassymbaiuly

Kasymbaev Zhanuzak Kasymbaiuly (25.12.1941-26.02.2004) – scholar, Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor, distinguished figure in the education sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a prominent contributor to Kazakhstan's education, and holder of the "Parasat" order.
Zhanuzak Kasymbaiuly was born in the village of Barshatas, Ayagoz district, Semey region. In 1959, he studied at the P. Tchaikovsky Music College in Almaty, and from 1959 to 1960, he studied at the Faculty of History of the S. Kirov Kazakh State University.
He is the author of about 600 articles, and under the editorship of Z. Kasymbaev, around 40 monographs and scientific collections were published. His extensive research on Kazakh khans (Kenesary, Aishuak, Zhantore, etc.), the Kazakh-Chinese caravan trade at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, and the history of cities (Semey, Akmolinsk) received high praise.
In his monograph titled "The History of Semey City (1718-1917)", the author examined how Semey city was the largest trade center in Kazakhstan before the revolution, contributed to the development of economic relations between Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as with cities in Western China, and served as a political refuge for revolutionaries and democrats who were the best representatives of their time, noting that many historical events took place in this city with their participation.
Professor Kasymbaev Zhanuzak passed away on February 26, 2004, due to a heart attack.
