Daulet Kartaiuly Smetov is a native of the Shubartau region, Ayagoz district, Abai region.

He is a poet, teacher, and the chairman of the branch of the International Association of Aitys Poets and Folk Singers in Abai region.

He is also recognized as a "Best Worker of the Culture Sector."
