A World Record for Performing Traditional Songs Has Been Set in the Abai Region

As part of the cultural project “100 Kazakh Traditional Songs Performed Consecutively”, implemented with the support of the Akimat of the Abai Region and organized by the Department of Culture, Language Development, and Archives of the Abai Region, renowned traditional singer Kairat Arkashuly Kabyshev, Honorary Professor of Shakarim University and Distinguished Worker of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, set a world record for the continuous performance of 100 songs by a single performer.

As a result of the project, Kairat Kabyshev performed continuously for 5 hours and 29 minutes, singing 102 traditional songs and surpassing the established target.

This achievement became a truly unique event not only in the history of Kazakhstan but also in the history of Kazakh traditional singing art. The result was officially registered in accordance with the requirements of the international organization Global Best of Records, highlighting the high international recognition of Kazakh traditional musical heritage.

During the project, which aimed to promote Kazakh traditional singing and preserve the nation's musical heritage, folk songs, works by folk composers, and outstanding examples of the Arka school of traditional singing were performed.

The record was documented under the supervision of independent experts in accordance with international standards. The expert commission included distinguished cultural figures, scholars, and professors specializing in traditional music and folklore.

In addition, Kuandyk Shyngysuly Kudaibergenov, General Officer of the GBR World Records Book for Asia and Africa, attended the event and officially registered the record.

This achievement became an important cultural event promoting the rich heritage of Kazakh traditional singing and left a significant mark on the history of Kazakhstan’s national culture.
