Kabanbai Village House of Culture

Qabanbay Rural Cultural House

The Qabanbay Rural Cultural House was opened in 1976 to meet the cultural and spiritual needs of the village residents as a club. During the Soviet era, this facility became the main center for cultural and public events and turned into an important part of village life.

In the 1990s, due to socio-economic changes in the country, the activities of the cultural house were halted, and the building changed hands several times, being privately owned by 3-4 individuals. During this period, due to the lack of technical documentation, including a technical passport, the facility was not used properly and fell into disrepair.

In 2019, in honor of the district's 90th anniversary, the issue of revitalizing the cultural house was raised with the support of village residents and entrepreneurs, and the building was completely reopened with sponsorship funds. Following the results of a state procurement competition, "Yarus" limited liability partnership was identified as the contracting construction company, and major renovation works were carried out in the facility with quality and within the specified timeframe.

During the renovation, the internal and external structure of the building was completely updated, and the engineering networks, heating system, electricity supply, stage, and auditorium were modernized to meet current requirements.

Today, the Qabanbay Rural Cultural House serves as the main center for the cultural, spiritual, and social life of the village population. The cultural house has an auditorium with 253 seats. Cultural and public events, concerts, festive programs, meetings, and educational gatherings are regularly held here.

The cultural house employs 8 permanent staff members and 3 seasonal boiler attendants who work during the heating season. The staff organizes cultural events at a high level and contributes to the effective use of the villagers' leisure time.

The building is constructed of white bricks, built on a typical project, and is two stories high. The facility is technically safe and fully suitable for use.

Additionally, a branch of the Semey Local History Museum is located within the cultural house. This branch allows village residents and youth to familiarize themselves with the history and cultural heritage of their homeland. A library also operates alongside the cultural house, staffed by 1 librarian. The library provides spiritual and educational services to readers and promotes interest in reading.

Today, the Qabanbay Rural Cultural House is an important cultural hub that enhances the cultural potential of the village, promotes national values, and unites the residents.
