"Abai Theater" Municipal State Enterprise

The theater building was constructed in 1981.

The area of the building's premises is 12,282.9 m2, the construction area is 3,391 m2, and the building volume is 48,056 m3. The land plot is 14,711 m2.

The building is constructed from silicate bricks clad with Simferopol limestone on the outside. It has a geometric shape. Towers are installed at the corners of the main frame to transition from floor to floor, which include stair flights. There is also a freight-passenger elevator with 6 stops for accessing the scenic decoration workshop. The windows are made of aluminum profiles. The roof is soft. The theater's facade features a running line, an LED screen, architectural lighting of the building, and a theater poster.

Inside the audience section, there is a bas-relief composition of the Eastern zodiac. The auditorium has a capacity of 530 seats. The small hall is designed for 112 spectators.

The theater houses administrative and creative premises. Technical workshops, rehearsal rooms, and auxiliary services are also present. Currently, a total of 243 employees work at the theater, including 119 administrative staff and 124 creative staff. There are 3 troupes in the theater: the Abai Musical Drama Troupe, the Russian Drama Troupe named after F.M. Dostoevsky, and the "Dariga-ai" Youth Troupe.

Each troupe has its own goals. These troupes stage performances in various genres, such as dramas, love stories, comedies, tragedies, legends, and fairy tales for children.

The theater plays an important role in the spiritual life of society. It covers various themes and genres, deeply touching the audience with high-level performances, inviting them to think, feel, and get acquainted with new understandings and ideas. The theater's activities are not only evaluated from an artistic perspective but also have significant educational value. Through special fairy tales and adventures for children, the theater develops the imagination of the younger generation and draws attention to educational issues. It allows them to understand the boundary between good and evil from an early age and the importance of friendship and justice. In this way, the theater promotes mutual respect and humanity among children, raising them to be citizens who will benefit society in the future. Classic and modern genre performances for teenagers and adults also hold great significance. They showcase various aspects of life, revealing the inner world of a person, their dreams, doubts, and victories. These performances of the theater not only provoke thought among the youth but also provide spiritual nourishment for adults. The audience takes away new thoughts and feelings necessary for their lives from each performance, enhancing their sense of responsibility towards society.
