MIRNY KENT LIBRARY BRANCH

On December 21, 2012, a decision was made at the city council session to open a library branch in the town of Mirny. The opening ceremony took place on June 11, 2013. Today, a universal collection of books and periodicals across all fields of knowledge is offered to satisfy various requests from readers.

When the library opened, the book collection consisted of 13,021 items. Over 12 years, the library's collection has been replenished with new books, while old and worn literature has been removed from the inventory. Currently, the book collection comprises 14,096 items, including 1,524 items in the Kazakh language.

The main indicators of the library are: the number of readers – 1,811 people, book circulation – 39,019 items, and the number of visits by readers – 19,516. The reading room accommodates 10 readers.

To effectively organize leisure time for children and teenagers, the "Master Hands" club and the "Young Wave" club are in operation. Additionally, cultural and mass events for various age groups are regularly held. Last year, a total of 71 cultural and public events were organized and conducted at the library.

As part of the "Meetings by the Irtysh" project, residents of the neighborhood have the opportunity to read books and exchange books by the Irtysh River.
