CEMENT TOWN LIBRARY BRANCH
The library branch in Cement Town was opened in December 2004. Since its opening, the library has been providing cultural and educational services to the residents. The structural divisions of the library include a lending section and a reading room, which regularly serve the readers.
At the time of its opening, the library's book collection consisted of 21,219 items, including 5,188 items in the Kazakh language. In the initial years, the book collection was supplemented through state institutions, as well as donations from readers and representatives of the intelligentsia.
Currently, the library branch's book collection consists of 22,826 items, including 6,487 items in the state language.
As a public cultural institution, the library serves school students, college students, retirees, employees, and children.
The main indicators of the library are: the number of readers – 1,820 people, book circulation – 39,029 items, the number of visits by readers – 19,524. The reading room accommodates 50 readers, the library building is on the institution's balance, with a total area of 182.8 square meters. The library employs 3 staff members.
The library hosts the "Atameken" club, the "Young Master" circle, and the "Comics Café" project. Last year, a total of 81 cultural and public events were organized and held at the library. Educational, cognitive, and creative events for children, teenagers, and adult readers are regularly conducted.
The local history direction is one of the main areas of the library's work. To promote and highlight the sacred places in our region, as well as the holy people and notable figures from the area, 26 cultural events were organized throughout the year. During these events, local history, spiritual values, and national heritage were widely covered.
