Library Branch No. 2

The building of Library Branch No. 2 was constructed in 1989. Since that time, the library has been operating in this building. From the moment the library opened, it has been providing cultural and educational services to the residents. The structural divisions of the library include the lending section and the reading room, which regularly serve readers.

Currently, the library branch has a collection of 37,822 items, including 6,272 items in the Kazakh language. There are a total of 22 electronic textbooks available.

As a cultural institution open to the public, the library serves school students, college students, retirees, employees, and children. The library works in the direction of "moral and aesthetic education."

The main indicators of the library are: the number of readers – 1,825 people, book circulation – 39,043, number of visits by readers – 19,535. The library employs 3 staff members.

During the months of June to August, the staff of Library Branch No. 2 conducts activities within the framework of the "Reading Alley" historical-literary project. The aim of the project is to promote the literature of great figures and writers to enhance the culture of reading among the youth. In this regard, events titled "Great Figures of the Great Steppe" were held in the "Abylai Khan" alley to introduce the history of the formation of the Kazakh Khanate and to instill patriotism, unity, cooperation, and love for the homeland, marking the 560th anniversary of the establishment of the Kazakh Khanate.

To attract readers to the library and convey that the library is a cultural information environment, the "Ulagat" club for teenagers operates. The goal of the club's activities is to instill the rich heritage left by our ancestors through oral literature in the youth, to broaden their worldview, and to educate them in a patriotic spirit. It aims to enhance their love for the literature and culture of their homeland.

For schoolchildren aged 6-10, the "Magic Fingers" circle operates. The purpose of the circle is to create conditions for the practical development of children's creative abilities, to provide aesthetic education, and to foster creativity and the worldview of children.

The library collaborates with secondary schools No. 20, 35, and 42, as well as with colleges in the service sector and in geodesy, cartography, and construction, and the book lending point is located at the KMҚK "No. 8 'Balböbek' kindergarten."
