The "Regional Historical and Local History Museum of Semey City" of the Department of Culture, Language Development, and Archive Affairs of Aбай Region, branch in the village of Kökjıra, Aqsuat District The opening of the museum in the territory of the Kökjıra rural district is due to the discovery of invaluable archaeological artifacts in this area. These include Tuyemoynaq, Masaly, Bazar Shaty, Mazibai, Daubai, Maraldy, and Elemek Sazy. Notably, the Elemek Sazy valley has gained national recognition due to its complex archaeological sites from the Bronze Age: the dwellings of the Saka people, elite burial sites, and ancient Turkic sanctuaries. In the Elemek Sazy valley, one "Golden Man" and one "Golden Horse" were discovered, which have become true pride for the republic. In Maraldy, figures carved from stone were found. Near the wintering site of Daubai, a reservoir from the Bronze Age was discovered. All of these historical finds indicate that the territory of the Kökjıra rural district is rich in archaeological monuments and generous in sensational discoveries. To preserve unique artifacts for scientific research, create conditions for storage, study, and promotion among the population, it was decided to open a museum in the village of Kökjıra. A special building was constructed for this purpose, and on January 5, 2023, the museum began its activities. A significant and invaluable contribution to the creation of the museum was made by the archaeologist A. Toleubaev, who personally donated several unique ancient artifacts to the museum. The museum has three exhibition halls, where items from the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Saka period, ancient Turkic period, and medieval culture are displayed. Currently, the museum has a total of 1,095 storage units. About the fund The total fund of the museum consists of 1,095 storage units.
