The Ekpin rural library was established in 1964. At that time, it was called the Zhdanov rural library. The library is located within the Zhdanov rural club. Aysha Kushebaeva worked at the library and has since retired. From 1988 until 2025, Lailla Kambarova served as the librarian. In 2025, a new building for the Ekpin rural cultural house was constructed, and the library was relocated to that building. Currently, Shynar Karatalova serves as the librarian at the Ekpin rural library. At present, the library has over 6,300 books in its collection. There are 5,700 books in the state language. The total number of library readers is 600, of which 198 are children. The library is an accessible center for education for the village residents. It offers books necessary for the study programs of students and additional literature. It fosters a culture of reading, broadens horizons, and develops children's vocabulary and creativity through cognitive hours, literary games, and fairy tale readings.
For adults and the elderly, it provides spiritual relaxation. Reading newspapers and magazines, and participating in literary and musical evenings allows for effective use of leisure time and enriches the spirit.
Today, the Ekpin rural library has become an indispensable place as a community center.
The library is a cultural environment that unites the village residents. Meetings, round tables, and educational events invigorate the public life of the village. Through promoting national values and events that celebrate Kazakh literature and traditions, the younger generation is instilled with a sense of national spirit and patriotism.
The library's collection is replenished annually with books published through state orders, and starting from 2023, with books by local authors published under the "Abai Way" library project supported by the regional governor. The residents of the village also contribute to the growth of the library's collection by donating books from their personal libraries.
In short, it is not an exaggeration to say that the Ekpin rural library is the spiritual heart of the village and the golden pillar of knowledge and culture.
